Asparagus pizza with Prosciutto and Burrata
I don’t know if you noticed it but it’s Asparagus season! I recently created this amazing Asparagus recipe that I need to share with you!
I love to eat this light and healthy spring veggie in any possible way (as long as the season lasts I must take this opportunity!)
So I was thinking why not on a Pizza?.. and the result turned out super tasty!!! The crunchy texture of asparagus plus the savoury prosciutto combined with fresh Mediterranean herbes and creamy Burrata cheese on top makes this comfort food a tasty main dish or a great appetizer to share with friends over a glass of wine.
ingredients
For the dough:
125ml warm water
1/4 fresh yeast
250mg wheat flour
1TL salt A pinch of sugar
1EL Olive oil
For the topping:
10 stems of green asparagus
2 large slices of prosciutto
Burrata
Tomato sauce (Passata)
Directions
Pour 125ml of warm water into a measuring cup. Crumble yeast into it and mix with a pinch of sugar and salt. Leave to rise for 10-15 minutes. (If you do not have fresh yeast, you can alternatively use dry yeast)
Put the flour in a bowl. Pour the yeast liquid and oil over the flour and start kneading vigorously with your hands until the dough is smooth. Place the dough in a bowl and cover with a cloth, then leave to rise in a warm place (about 35°C) for about 40 minutes. Your dough will be about twice as big as before. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
Sprinkle some flour on a clean surface and form your dough into a pizza dough. (The shape and thickness is completely up to you). Spread the tomato sauce evenly on your dough and sprinkle some spices and herbes of your choice over it. Pluck the prosciutto apart and spread it everywhere. Peel about 1/4 of your asparagus spears, wash them and pat them dry a little and then spread them on your pizza.
Finally, sprinkle some mediterranean herbes over the pizza and bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes at 200 degrees. Finally, spread the Burrata cheese on the hot pizza.
