Chickpea and Tortilla ChipsVeggie Burger
Any new year’s resolutions?
A lot of people want to change their habits and start new life choices. For instance: to stop smoking, start getting in shape, stop procrastinating or simply eat healthier food.
So why not starting your new year with some “Healthy” Fast-Food.
I recently did this new creation, I wanted to invent my own Veggie-Patty. What I love about my creation is: the aromatic spices which gives the patty sort of an Indian style and the texture of it. If you feel like being really healthy you can eat the burger on a spelt bun.
Let's start of with the recipe:
approximate time of preparation + cooking 1 h
Ingredients:
For 4 Burgers :
4 Black Bun’s
Mayonnaise (i used Koriander Mayonnaise)
Chipotle Sauce
4 Red pepper rings
1 Red Onion
Rucola leafs
1 Avocado
4 Slices of Cheese
For the Patties:
100 g / approx. half a Chick pea can
1/4 of a tomato
Koriander
2 Green onion
3 medium sized potatoes
100 g approx. of Tortilla chips (Cheese Nachos)
1 egg
Turmeric
Curry
Masala
Persillade
Salt
Pepper
Directions:
First start grating your potatoes and crush your tortilla chips with a mortar. Chop the Koriander, cut the half of your Tomato in small cubes and the green onions in small rings.
Crush the chick pea’s until it becomes one mass. Mix everything together, add 1 egg and add the different spices. Then form into 4 patty’s and finally add some breadcrumbs to make it a little crispy. Grill it in a pan for approx. 10min at middle heat.
At the end you can style your Burger as you feel like. Some people like more sauce or veggies, some less.
I put some mayonnaise on the bottom, then the veggie patty, then the cheese, the onions, red pepper and the avocado slices and on top some rucola leafs, I topped it with some chipotle sauce and closed the Bun. Ready to Enjoy a healthy, juicy and flavourful Burger.
Bon appétit!
